Education Programme
Today's young people are the key to eliminating litter and ending waste for this and future generations. With this goal in mind the LPWRM can offer inspiration and practical solutions, so that every child has the opportunity to learn about their environment and the role they can play in improving and safeguarding it.
Our programmes are tailored to the appropriate age groups and ability.
Health & Safety of the participants is a priority. Following a safety briefing we provide protective gloves, high viz waistcoat and litter pickers to enable the young people to safely have first hand experience of litter picking. This will encourage them to be aware of the damage litter does to the environment and to take pride in their community.
Recycling and reusing instead of sending to landfill is also important, and we aim to inspire young people to recycle and reuse.
All LPWRM members are volunteers and we are able to offer this Education Programme free as part of our goal of reducing the amount of litter in our local communities. This is due to the donations from individuals, many local businesses and community grants from local councils.
Do you represent a School, Guide Unit, Cadet Unit, Scout Group, or any Youth Organisation and would be interested in a presentation followed by a litter picking activity from our experienced education team?
Please contact our Education Coordinator Christopher McAuley who will be happy to discuss your requirements and plan a visit.
